A few short weeks after Frimpong swapped Leverkusen for Liverpool, Wirtz has followed suit, this time in a £116 million ($156m) deal. Soon after the transfer was confirmed, the Dutchman used the eyes emoji when someone on X wrote, "Moving clubs with your mate must be a top-tier feeling."

Frimpong and Wirtz, 22, showed how chummy they are when they holidayed together just a few days ago, and now the 24-year-old wideman has taken to social media to respond to the German's transfer.

Liverpool romped to the Premier League title this term, managed to retain key duo Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, and now have signed dangerous Leverkusen pair Wirtz and Frimpong. Wirtz said he wants to win "everything" at the Reds and with signings like this, Arne Slot's team could be a force to be reckoned with for a while yet.
